(Grrr)
No matter what I do, pictures don't come out right. (Photography-wise.) In person, I like this piece a lot. :::sigh:::

The Trash Can Project
So this has been my night job for the past 2 months. Earlier this year, Baltimore City put out a call for artists to paint trash cans in one of its neighbourhoods. Each trash can looked like this starting out:

As one of the 5 artists chosen, I had the opportunity to reconcrete, refinish and then paint the thing. (For free.) J offered to do the concreting/refinishing for me (awesome, amazing husband). He even did the priming. But about 200 hours of painting actually went into the thing, in a 98 degree warehouse with no air conditioning. (And no lights after dark. It was very horror movie at times.) Here are my months of labor:

I think this one is a winner. (But as always, feel free to comment REGARDLESS of your opinion. I can handle criticism.)

Final critique
I'm getting sick of this painting. Besides detail work (which I can't do while its wet), PLEASE let me know what needs to change before I declare this painting "finished". Thanks. <3 M

winter's vacant smile
was overridden by notions of what it is to be warm
what it means to care
what it means to proceed design
of mankind
of what it is to be measuring time with a second guess constantly reminding
that we are ants
drowning in ghost water

we are merely shadows behind
the aftermath of our conversations
lost and begging to find a
reality within a landscape of everyday
Life's purpose inside the birds
as they
dance
andflock away
in their
romance with the wind
